The view of the Erasmus Bridge (Erasmusbrug) and the De Rotterdam building is one of the most iconic of the city. Erasmusbrug is a draw bridge built in 1996, the 2nd in size in the Neetherlands, with a cable-stayed portion which has made people rename the bridge as The Swan, and a bascule panel which is largest and heaviest in Western Europe.

De Rotterdam (2009-2013) is often referred as a vertical city, made up of three 44-story separated towers on a common glass 6-story plinth, enclosing offices, appartments, parking lots, commercial areas, where about 5000 people get in and out for working or leisure on a daily basis. The towers seem to move and change their shape as you go around. As expected, the figures concerning this building are simply mindboggling.
